InsuranceTop

What insurance cover is included in the price quoted?
Your rental quote will include fully Comprehensive cover for one named driver although an security deposit / excess does apply.

How much is the Security Deposit / Excess?
The amount of security deposit / excess depends on which car you have rented. The typical excess ranges from £1500 to £5,000.

Is there an age limit to drive the vehicles?
Age limits are set by insurers and is normally 25 to 70.

I am under the 25/30 age requirement or over the 65/70 bracket for the vehicles, can I still hire?
Age limits are specified by insurers and not us, however on occasions we have managed to provide insurance to those who fall outside our insurance criteria.

Can I drive the car, under the required age, if I am the second driver?
No, to be insured on the car, all drivers must conform to the minimum age requirements.

I have only had a full licence for one year can I still hire?
Unfortunately you need a minimum of 2 years driving experience.

Does your insurance cover include towing and does it cover what I am towing?
No insurance does not cover anything you are towing just the vehicle on hire.

Can I hire if I have 6 points on my licence?
Yes,6 points is acceptable on most occasions.

I have more than 6 points on my license, or a drink driving ban or a conviction for driving with no insurance, can I still hire a car?
Possibly - we will have to submit an insurance referral to our underwriters. Acceptance will depend on how long ago and what the endorsements were obtained for.

Can I hire if I do not hold a UK driving licence?
This is not usually an issue, but it is always best to speak to us direct and we can confirm this for you. EU licenses are fine.

Foreign TravelTop

Can I take the car outside of the UK?
Vehicles may not be taken out of England, Scotland or Wales without written authorisation. Vehicles taken abroad will be subject to an extra £20 + vat per day for insurance . You will need a VE103B from us, and proof of breakdown cover. If you would like us to arrange breakdown cover for you we can arrange it.

Is European Insurance Included?
No, please contact us for a quotation.

What is included in the online quote?
Comprehensive insurance for one named driver (subject to an excess) Generous daily mileage allowance and breakdown / roadside assistance(UK)

Are there any additional charges apart from the basic rental price?
Fuel is not included in the rental price. Additional charges to your basic rental rate may include: Child/Booster seats, Excess reduction (if available), Luxury Airport "Meet & Greet" and "Delivery and Collection" services.

I have found a cheaper deal, can you match the price?
On most occasions if you have been offered a price by a reputable company we will match the price but it needs to be a like for like quote.

Is there a discount available for hiring more than one car at the same time?
Discounts for hiring more than one car are available, please contact our sales team for further information.

Do you do longer term hires?
Yes, long term hires are possible at preferential rates. However, we do not compete with long term lease rates.

Do you provide car seats?
Yes we have car seats for every age group from new-born upwards, please make us aware of your exact requirements at time of booking

Can you provide snow chains?
Yes we can, there will be a charge and this can be found on the ‘Tariffs’ Page

Can you provide a roof top box?
Yes we can, there will be a charge and this can be found on the ‘Tariffs’ Page

Booking a vehicleTop

Do you require a security deposit?
Yes, it is a pre-authorised security deposit of between £1500-£5000 depending on the vehicle, this is fully refundable on return of the vehicle.

What is the minimum hire length?
The minimum hire period is 24 hours midweek (hire starting Monday through to Thursday) and 48 Hours at the weekend (Hire starting Friday or Saturday).

During the Summer months and Christmas, the minimum hire period at the weekend is 3 days. Summer months are May, June, July and August.

What documents do I need to hire a car?

PaymentTop

How can I pay for my rental?
You can pay for your rental using a Credit or Debit Card in your name.

Do you accept credit cards/Amex? 
Yes we do but there is a surcharge of 3%.

When do I need to pay?
To confirm a booking we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. This secures the vehicle. The balance is due the day before the hire together with the security deposit.

Are there any fees for modifying booking details or cancelling a booking?
You can modify your reservation details before the rental, including the length of the rental. Please note that if you change the reservation details your quote may change.

Can someone else pay for my hire on my behalf?
Yes certainly but to prevent fraud we would need to ask for the same ID as from the driver.

Security Deposit / ExcessTop

Can I reduce the Security Deposit and Insurance Excess by paying more?
No, at the moment we do not offer a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). Deposits are taken by Pre-Authorisation on a credit or debit card.

What is an Security Deposit / Excess?
The excess is a charge towards the cost of repairs/loss of the vehicle.

How much is the Security Deposit / Excess?
The amount of excess depends on which car you have rented. The typical excess ranges from £1500 to £5,000.

Mileage AllowanceTop

How many miles per day do I get with the hire?
The standard mileage allowance is 150 miles per day on all cars  For hires of 15 days or more you get 500 miles per week.

Can I purchase additional mileage?
Yes, Excess miles are charged at the rate shown on our Tariff page. Pre-booked mileage is offered at a 50% discount but un-used pre-booked mileage is non-refundable.

Delivery & CollectionTop

Do you deliver to airports or any location in UK?
Yes of course we provide a 24/7 delivery/collection service to any airport within the UK

Is there a charge for delivery?
Yes we charge £1.15 per mile from our offices to  the destination required.

Can I collect the car instead of paying for delivery and collection?
Yes, you can collect the car free of charge during our normal business hours. However, your mileage allowance starts from when hand the car over. Please calculate your mileage to see if this fits in with your overall mileage allowance. You may find that the additional mileage costs are more than the delivery and collection charges.

Is there a surcharge for unsocial hours?
Yes there is and it does depend on your requirements. Please talk to a member of the sales team for more information

Can I collect vehicle from your offices?
This may be possible. Please talk to a member of the sales team.

If I am hiring from an Airport, where do I meet your driver on arrival and departure?
We do not operate from the airport car rental hubs, we offer a personalised "meet and greet" service so that you can avoid any queues and delays at the car rental desks.

The location will be by arrangement with your driver, please make sure that you provide a mobile number that will work on your arrival into the UK. We will also provide the number of our driver to you.

When I returned my car it was dirty, how are we going to check for damages?
If you return the car dirty you will be asked to sign the damage report sheet confirming that the car was returned dirty. When we provide a hire vehicle we provide it clean and we expect the car to be returned to us in the same condition. If the car is returned dirty and when washed we find damage, it will be the hirers responsibility for charges. If the car is excessively dirty a valet charge of £50 plus VAT will be charged of the security deposit.

What happens if I damage the car whilst it is on hire?
Once returned we will get an estimate for the repair and talk to you

DriversTop

Is anyone else allowed to drive?
No one is permitted to drive the vehicle without our authorisation, those found driving without consent will be held responsible for all damages as insurance will be invalid

What ID do I need to supply?

  • Your driving licence (Front and back)

Can I have an additional driver?
Yes, additional drivers are subject to the same conditions as the renter. There is a charge for the first additional driver.

FuelTop

Do I have to pay for fuel?
Yes fuel is the responsibility of the hirer. Fuel must be returned at the same amount provided, if you do not return with the same amount, a refuel charge will be applicable.

MiscTop

Can I check prices online without making a reservation?
Yes, you can get a quote online without completing the booking process. Simply select the car and dates and click on the "Get a Quote" button. Please note that prices are subject to changes.

Am I responsible for PCNS and Speeding fines etc whilst the vehicle is on hire?
Yes.

What if I break down?
24 hours Roadside Assistance is provided in case of emergency, breakdown or accident. Just call the dedicated number provided on your rental documents.

Do you require DVLA share codes?
Yes we do, these are very easy to obtain from the DVLA website.

From 8th June 2015, the paper counterpart previously issued with the driving licence card, will no longer be issued by the DVLA. The DVLA are also advising that the counterpart should be destroyed as it is no longer legally valid and cannot be accepted as evidence at point of hire.

Do the vehicles have tow bars?
Yes, the majority of our vehicles have tow bars and spare number plates.

Can I extend my hire?
Yes this is normally possible with the exception of peak hire periods. Please contact the sales department as soon as possible.

What if I am late returning my car?
Please contact the office immediately. We provide an hour’s grace period after that an additional days rent will be charged.

Why must I leave a security deposit?
A security deposit must be provided to ensure our cars are taken care of safely and driven responsibly by you the hirer.

Am I allowed to smoke in the car?
Smoking is prohibited in All our vehicles, if you smoke a fine of £150 will be deducted from the security deposit.

If I scuff a wheel what will be the charge?
Wheel damaged are charged at £150 plus VAT a wheel and up to £500 + VAT for a heavily damaged wheel.
